What will I learn in Improve Your Render?

Improve Your Render is a specialization program designed to enhance the presentations of your projects using professional Lookdev techniques.

What is the syllabus?

The program has a clear structure designed to enhance the presentation of your personal project. However, since it is intended for a small group, we can adjust it according to the group's needs.

One of the advantages of live mentoring is its flexibility: the sessions will be fully tailored to your objectives and needs. It will be made just for you!

How much does Improve Your Render cost?

The base price of the program is 925€.

Will you teach me how to create a project from scratch?

Improve Your Render is not a course to create a project from scratch; rather, it is a specialized program to apply Lookdev techniques to your own project and enhance your portfolio presentation. You will need to bring your own material to follow the program.

How many weeks does it last?

The program lasts 7 weeks. After the welcome session, where we'll set up your project, we'll dive into the core of the course with 4 weeks of practical content. Finally, 2 weeks later, we'll close with a final session to present your personal project and receive feedback.

The session schedule doesn’t work for me. What happens if I can’t connect?

It is recommended to prioritize attendance at the live sessions for better results and to enjoy direct interaction with the mentor. However, if you cannot attend, don’t worry: once the recording is processed, you will receive a link to watch it at your convenience.

My question is not aswered here.

Contact me at info@improveyourrender.com, and I will respond as soon as possible. I’m here to help you!

When will I have access to the recording?

The recordings of the sessions will be yours forever, as well as the resources provided.

I don't want to specialize in Lookdev, is this program for me?

Lookdev is the phase where the materials of the scene are worked on to ensure they react correctly to light in the render. In short, we make a 3D asset look spectacular.

So, whether you’re looking to specialize professionally in Lookdev or simply want to improve the presentations of your digital characters, this program is for you.

By the way, I used to say that at the beginning of my career too! ;-)

Will we have Q&A sessions?

Of course! The live sessions are a two-way conversation between the student and the mentor. During that time, I will be available for you to ask whatever you need, and we will resolve it together.

How will I receive feedback?

We will use Discord to address questions and receive paintovers from the mentor. If any question requires further development, we can dedicate time in the weekly live Q&A session to resolve it.

How do I reserve my spot?

To ensure personalized attention, Improve Your Render offers limited spots. You should submit your portfolio through the admission form or directly to our email at info@improveyourrender.com. If your level is suitable for following the program, I will guide you through the process to reserve your spot.

Who will be my mentor?

If you join, your mentor will be David Blaya, Lookdev Artist and industry mentor. He currently works at Skydance Animation producing animated films for Netflix. He has professional experience in both VFX and animation, from hero characters to environments.

What happens after completing the program?

Upon completing the program, you will continue to be part of the Improve Your Render community. You will have a support network among your peers, where you can continue to receive feedback from one another.

Additionally, you will have lifetime access to the recordings, so you can apply what you’ve learned to future projects.

It sounds good, but I can't afford it.

Don't worry! We offer flexible payment options so that the price won't be a barrier to your training.

What materials do I need to have ready?

Each artist will work on their own personal project, so you’ll need to bring your own assets to follow the program.

In addition to that, you'll also need licenses for Substance Painter, Autodesk Maya, and Arnold.

When will the sessions take place?

All sessions will be on Saturdays from 10:00 to 13:00. Since the sessions are quite long, we'll take a break halfway through to stretch your legs, refill your water glass, bottle... whatever you need!
